1 year, 4 months later…

It is imperative to question the timelines publicly announced by the Minister of Education, wherein he indicated that the sectoral agreement for state schools is mere weeks away from reaching finalization.

The UPE raises the following queries:

– Will the MUT be willing to accept additional workload in the forthcoming Sectoral Agreement?

– Will the MUT be open to embracing any new reforms post the signing of the Sectoral Agreement?

– Will educators be afforded the time to physically cast their votes, or will there be a repetition of the MUT online voting scenario experienced in 2017?

– Will the MUT actively pursue the arrears owed?

In the interim, another month has elapsed, symbolizing yet another period of outstanding arrears. Presented below is a table once again as a reminder of the amount of arrears that have been foregone.
