LSE’s Left Confused and Irritated After Head of School Allegedly Stated Nonsense During Morning Briefing.
The Union of Professional Educators (UPE) has received various complaints from a primary school within St Ignatius College. The Head of School (HOS) allegedly stated false directions for the school’s operation in the upcoming scholastic year. The UPE categorically advises its members that what was said is incorrect and riddled with false misconceptions.
It is alleged that during a morning briefing, the HOS stated that LSE 3’s would be given the most severe cases in school. This is incorrect; students with special needs are assigned to LSEs based on character and compatibility, and not qualification. The HOS also stated that it is wise to rethink what you are studying and that the role of Teacher Assistants will not exist. These statements are demotivating and false.
The role of the HOS is to encourage staff members to upskill for the benefit of the member, school, and students. The UPE questions the HOS’s managerial skills due to the lack of motivation given to staff members. The UPE will be working to introduce teacher assistants in all classes and advises its members to seek expert advice from the UPE and ignore mediocre comments made by uninformed sources.
The Union will be monitoring the situation in the coming months and will name and shame the HOS if such actions are repeated. The UPE knows who the person/s are. This time the Union is issuing a warning, next time; the Union will go all the way to expose the very few mediocre SMT members.
