The Gozitan LSE’s Saga Continues

The UPE is acutely aware of a recurring problem each new scholastic year brings. The majority of the Learning Support Educators (LSE) who reside in Gozo and work in Malta face the issue of not knowing where they will be deployed until the last minute. The consequence of such a lack of information leads to problematic transportation logistics, such as higher transport rates.

Our Gozitan members have highlighted the problems they encounter to find transportation from the ferry to the schools assigned. These issues have been flagged by the UPE year after year. However, it seems that the same mistake is allowed to happen with no compensation for the repercussions last-minute planning brings.

The UPE urges that the deployment of the LSE’s who will work in Malta is communicated with urgency to avoid unnecessary logistical problems.
