The Union of Professional Educators has been receiving several communications in which members have been querying about the additional holidays stipulated by the Government as well as any other holidays which may fall on a weekend..

The union would like to point out that the additional holidays mentioned above have already been added on to the Easter Holidays and that there is an on-going agreement regarding how holidays falling on a weekend will be given.

As the agreement stands, any holidays which happen to fall on a weekend, up to a maximum of two days, will be added on to the Easter Holidays. Furthermore, should there be a third day of holidays which falls on a weekend, this will be added on to the mid-term holidays which coincide with the carnival period.
