Discrimination and Unfair Treatment – When Incompetence Strikes at the Ministry of Education – UPE Responds with a Trade Dispute

The Union of Professional Educators (UPE) has filed a trade dispute in response to intimidatory and discriminatory actions that have unfolded over recent weeks.

The Union will not tolerate discriminatory treatment of its members and will ensure their rights are safeguarded at all times.

We further note that the Ministry of Education, through its officials, appears to be trying to generate confusion by mixing up issues.

It remains unclear whether this is deliberate or sheer incompetence.

In the meantime, the UPE has told the Ministry of Education, specifically the Department of Educational Services, until 23rd May 2025 to resolve this matter.

Should no resolution be reached, the Union reserves the right to issue directives accordingly. Meanwhile, the Union is reinforcing its previously issued directives and urges all members to adhere to them without exception. Click here to read directives.
