Directive – Educational Officers now expect UPE members to have face-to-face meetings with them to discuss the LOF in the coming weeks.

The UPE would like to bring your attention that Educational Officers now expect UPE members to have face-to-face meetings with them to discuss the LOF in the coming weeks. These LOF meetings had initially been offered online. What has changed? EOs have recently informed teachers that they will not be given this option. Gozitan educators are also expected to travel to Malta, an inconvenience for them.

The Union is issuing a trade dispute and has accordingly issued this directive to safeguard all of its members.

Teachers members of the UPE are free to choose if they want to attend in person or virtual LOF or other meetings. They are not compelled to be physically present.

The Union would like to make it very clear that teachers are free to join in person if they so prefer.
